Port Orford Arts Council Honors Local Author and Artists
Included in the weekend showcase at the Port Orford Arts Council Gallery (320 Oregon Street, Port Orford, Oregon) December 12th through 14th are fantasy author Jayel Gibson, ceramist Jean Stephenson, artist Dana Amarisa and musician Joani McNerlin.

Jayel Gibson is the author of the award winning Ancient Mirrors fantasy series. Her most recent work, Quondam, won the 2008 National Indie Excellence Award for Fantasy and Science Fiction and was a  USA Book News ‘2008 Best Books’ Finalist. In addition to a fulltime writing career, Gibson teaches writing for publication classes at Southwestern Oregon Community College, hosts the Chapters Author Talk radio show and serves as the Realms of Fantasy online book club moderator.

Jean Stephenson is best known for her stunningly unique ceramics but she also does painting and sculpture.

Artist Dana Amarisa has been involved in writing and visual arts for many years with a focus on pastels.

Joani McNerlin will provide musical entertainment on flute and clarinet during the opening reception, Friday, November 12rh from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Artist and author works will remain on display during the ‘Show and Sale’ Saturday, December 13, 2008 and Sunday, December 14th between 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Port Orford Arts Council members will be on hand to assist visitors.
